We are now looking for a SAP Performance and Capacity Manager to join our dynamic team here at Radisson Hotel Group!

Team Mission:

Our primary function is to lead and transform Radisson Hotel Groups Global IT Service Management function to contribute to the company’s 5-year plan strategy and beyond.  We provide an agile, professional, efficient, and predictable Service Management function for the Radisson Hotel group with services which meet and exceed the needs of our end customers.  This role is primarily focussed keeping our system and processes performant so we can achieve the growth plan to enable the 5 year plan.  

Role purpose:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization and enhancement of our SAP systems. Leading the area of SAP Performance and Optimisation, you will be responsible for a managing a third party service who’s function is to proactively improve and optimise our SAP system. This service would provide both proactive analysis of custom code; identifying areas code and processes that are poorly performing and indicating the required improvements, as well as reactive trouble shooting when performance issues (Incidents) are occurring in our live production system. Another dimension included in this service is system resource and capacity management.


Roles/Responsibilities:

As a technical manager, you will be responsible for leading a service providing the following functions:

1.      Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of SAP systems to identify any bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement. This may involve analyzing system logs, SAP early watch reports, performance metrics, and user feedback.

2.      Capacity Planning: Forecast future system resource requirements based on historical data, growth projections, and business needs. Develop and implement strategies to ensure that SAP systems can handle anticipated workloads without performance degradation.

3.      Tuning and Optimization: Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and database administrators to optimize SAP system configuration, parameters, and settings for improved performance. This may involve fine-tuning database queries, optimizing network configurations, or adjusting system parameters.

4.      Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve performance issues, system outages, or other technical problems affecting SAP systems. Work closely with support teams to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

5.      Performance Testing: Plan, execute, and analyse performance tests to assess the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of SAP systems under different load conditions. Use testing tools and methodologies to simulate real-world scenarios and identify performance limitations.

6.      Capacity Management: Develop and maintain capacity management processes to ensure that SAP systems have sufficient resources to meet current and future demands. This may involve capacity modelling, resource allocation, and capacity utilization tracking.

7.      Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation of performance tuning activities, capacity planning strategies, and system configurations. Generate regular reports on system performance metrics, capacity utilization, and trends for management review.

8.      Risk Management: Identify potential risks to system performance and capacity, such as software bugs or unexpected spikes in workload. Implement mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of these risks on SAP operations.

9.      Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, development, and business stakeholders, to align performance and capacity management efforts with organizational goals. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to convey performance-related issues, recommendations, and progress updates.

10.      Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends related to SAP performance and capacity management. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of SAP systems through process improvements and innovation.

11.      Vendor Management: As the capability delivering skills within this service will be provided by a third party, it is essential that the candidate is able to manage vendor relationships and 3rd party deliveries.

o    Ensure SAP systems meet performance targets and service level agreements (SLAs).

o    Accountable for maintaining optimal system performance and responsiveness.

·       Capacity:

o    Ensure SAP systems have adequate capacity to support current and future workloads.

o    Accountable for managing system resources efficiently and effectively.

·       Issue Resolution:

o    Accountable for timely resolution of performance-related issues and technical problems.

o    Ensure that system outages and disruptions are minimized through effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.

·       Documentation and Reporting:

o    Accountable for maintaining accurate documentation of performance and capacity management activities.

o    Ensure that performance reports and documentation are comprehensive, up-to-date, and accessible to stakeholders.

·       Collaboration and Communication:

o    Accountable for fostering collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams.

o    Ensure that performance and capacity management efforts are aligned with organizational goals and priorities.

·       Continuous Improvement:

o    Accountable for identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, capacity, and efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize SAP systems and processes.

·       Strong proficiency with HANA Cockpit for troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of performance issues
