Technical Services Manager - The North


Description

D&D London is a group of diverse restaurants, bars and hotels based principally in London, but also with venues in Paris and New York. It was founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the eponymous D and D) in 2006, following a buyout of Conran Restaurants. Since then the company has become a vital player in London’s famous restaurant scene, owning some of the capital’s most celebrated restaurants, including Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour, Bluebird and Coq d’Argent.

We are looking for a Technical Services Manager who will work closely with a team of engineers overseeing the day to day operations, ensuring optimum running of D&D London properties. The role is to manage and support the maintenance team with technical support, coordinating and executing PPM plans, manage contractors and oversee works. In addition, you will play a key role in the delivery of health & safety standards and statutory compliance throughout the D&D London group. The role requires high level technical knowledge with a hands-on approach as and when deemed necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
• To manage, plan and monitor the day to day repairs and maintenance activities ensuring works are completed on time and to the highest quality.
• To review and update the maintenance reporting system with continual follow up on outstanding tasks.
• Makes recommendations to the Head of Technical Services. These recommendations relate to maintenance repairs, health & safety matters and maintenance & engineering faults.
• To advise, plan, tender, implement and monitor repairs and maintenance activities, in order to ensure delivery on budget, within agreed timescales and to the quality required.
• To ensure maintenance supplies, spares and stock levels are monitored and adequate supplies are available.
• To act as point of contact for technical support in order to reduce contractor’s call-outs and ensure the correct trade/skill is allocated for resolving the problem.
• To manage internal and external maintenance activities in line with the D&D London health & safety policy and procedures manual.

Key Requirements:
• Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent i.e. Mechanical or Electrical.
• NEBOSH/CIEH Health & Safety Qualification or equivalent.
• Experience leading a team.
• Significant experience in a multi skilled engineering role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Significant Health & Safety experience including the implementation and managing of Health & Safety standards.
• Good commercial and financial awareness.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Previous experience in a Multisite/Cluster role.
