Purpose

The Polisher will assist in organizing, cleaning, and preparing dishware, glassware, and silverware for the successful running of the food and beverage operation.

Key Focus

  • Stock shelves, racks, tables and service stations with new or transferred supplies.
  • Receive, open, unpack and stock restaurant supplies.
  • Polish all glasses, plates and silverware to be used in the dining room.
  • Restock and distribute the dining room with china, silverware, glassware, utensils, condiments and linen, and maintains adequate supplies in the work stations when dining room is open.
  • Fold napkins and make extra place settings.
  • Maintain the dish area on the ground floor and keep the area clean by rotating dirty dishware to dish station.

Personnel:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards.
  • Participate actively during pre-shift meeting.
  • Participate in restaurant service and team trainings.
  • Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
  • Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities.

Service Standards

  • Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service.
  • Reliably complete all assigned side work.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including recently created and evolving COVID guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
