Server/Waiter/Waitress

Description

As a server, you are the salesperson/show person, eyes, ears, and mouth of the
kitchen, and a major principal, who will determine the nature of our client's
experience. Your knowledge of menu items, specials, wines by the bottle and glass
must be thorough and up-to-date. Wine and food tasting is a key way we inform
ourselves. As servers, it is your job to make time to attend any scheduled tasting or
meeting, as well as be responsible for all information given at any tasting/meeting.

Not only are you, the server, responsible for everything that goes on in your station,
but it is also expected of you to always to be looking to assist other servers and co-
workers. Keep eye contact as much as possible with other servers as you stand and
walk around the dining room. Scan for our customers in need of assistance outside
of your station. Always politely inform another server of any service you perform
for him/her at any of their tables. Servers must also be able to recognize when they
are in need of assistance and be able to ask for help coherently before it becomes a
problem.

Another way we perform as a team is through our side work. Thoroughness in our
side work not only proves our professionalism, but also shows our respect for other
members of the team. Management will have little tolerance for any employee who
is thoughtless enough to neglect their side work.

Servers will attempt in every way to further the interests of the restaurant. This
includes those items listed specifically above, but also the myriad of small details
that arise in a daily work environment. The Server understands and accepts that
this vigilance should be not only physical and mental, but in attitude as well.
Wherever specific goals or tasks are involved, the Server must make every effort to
attain or complete them, and to report to his/her superior with the results and any
comments or suggestions that might improve this process in the future.

Work fluctuates between indoors and outdoors. The employer will attempt in every
way to maintain a safe, healthy and pleasant working environment but should the
employee notice any potentially unhealthy defect, condition, or situation, he will be
expected to notify his superior immediately. Employee is frequently exposed to
heat, cold, temperature change, humidity, odors, vibration and noise.

(We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with Criminal Histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.)
