Description
The Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of overnight attendants. He / She assists in and directs the day–to–day operations of overnight floor care functions and cleaning of the public area spaces. Participates in and enforces quality assurance for the Housekeeping Department and department cost control measures. Above all, ensure each guest experiences SINGULAR SERVICE which is both remarkable and personalized.


• Assists in supervising and performing day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.
• Conducts pre-shift meeting with staff and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
• Inspects grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
• Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
• Collaborates with the Director of Housekeeping and Assistant Housekeeping Manager on ways to continually improve departmental service.
• Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the Housekeeping goals to produce desired results.
• Participates in the implementation of corrective action plans based on review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results.
• Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
• Ensure that employees are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and other employees.
• Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping performs and directs the overnight housekeeping team and house persons.
• Assigns team members their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
• Assists staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Assists with inventories of linen and supplies.
• Adheres to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
• Attains thorough knowledge of all hotel related programs/interfaces.
• Conducts thorough training upon hire and consistent follow-up to ensure each employee is aligned to the service culture that is established at AAH.
• Ensures security of guestroom access.
• Cleaning of guest rooms.
• Removes dirty dishes from guest room floors and service areas and takes to dish room.
• Stocks and maintains supply and linen closets in an orderly fashion.
• Removes trash and refuse from all areas of the building
• Performs cleaning of exterior areas of the hotel such as sidewalk, curb area and dumpster area.
• Delivery of guest requests, luggage assistance, light engineering duties such as changing light bulbs or plunging toilets.
• Public area cleaning.
• Cleaning of public area carpets, upholstery, draperies and windows as needed as well as deep cleaning projects.
• Cleaning of meeting rooms after functions as well as periodic deep cleaning tasks.
• Ensure equipment is in working order and submit requisitions for repair for damaged equipment.
• Coordinate with Front Office to correct any discrepant rooms.
• Multi-tasks and prioritizes departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with Engineering to correct any out of order rooms or room deficiencies.
• Attend to guest complaints and perform service recovery actions as needed.
• Ensure that proper operating procedures are being followed.
