Events Coordinator /Experience Design

Description
Please read our business profile to learn a bit more about Arbor.
At Arbor Projects we are Restaurant - Cafe - Caterer - Farm. The role we are looking to fill will primarily interact with the catering side of Arbor, but our team is seamlessly integrated within most facets of the business. The catering and events side of business in strategically integrated with Greenhouse Loft, right next to our space. We currently do not include Arbor Catering in offsite events, and this role would primarily focus on corporate events and weddings. There are a lot of moving pieces but it is not a place one gets easily bored with. Collaborators and self-starting types thrive at Arbor, but we are unusual in the realm that we are a very pragmatic and caring restaurant/caterer that values the individual; be it customer or staff. We want to enrich everyone we interact with and this starts with the staff. Arbor can only work with a team of inspired, hospitable, and talented individuals that make up an experience that can only be described as memorable.

One side of our project is a dinner service we do three nights a week called, Midwestern Omakase. It is a passionate expression of Garden To Table, it’s clandestine…yet it exists for all. The menu changes every few weeks, and Thillrist even listed it as a must have dining experience! The wine list is extremely fun and quirky with focuses on smaller producers and natural wine practices. This embodies many of the elements of how we approach the dining and service experience.

If any of this hits a nerve and you could see yourself thriving at Arbor, then read below for some details of the job. The individual will need to work with internal and external communications management, event coordination & execution. Both owners are acutely involved in the development and operations of Arbor. This is a new position we are creating as a result of increased business. We know what type of person will thrive at this position, so please offer any skills you think will be relevant.

Please review the skills needed and the responsibilities and contact us if you are interested.
Catering & External communications manager responsibilities can include:
- managing the food and beverage provision for functions and events
- supervising catering and wait staff at functions

- planning staff shifts for events
- ensuring health and safety regulations are strictly observed

- monitoring the quality of the product and service provided
- keeping financial and administrative records within our event management system
- managing the payroll and monitoring spending levels for events
- maintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as required
- interacting with customers if involved with the front of house work
- liaising with suppliers and clients

- maximizing sales and meeting profit and financial expectations
- overseeing the management of facilities, e.g. checking event bookings and allocation of resources/staff
- planning new promotions and initiatives, and contributing to business development
Kitchen experience is a big plus!

We aren’t the stuffy type but are relentless about what makes for memorable experiences and lovingly seasoned food. It is less about impressing the guest, and more about love, as that is the warmest kind of hospitality. For our guests, we are building the kind of place they never want to leave and wish you’d never get full. If you would like to talk with us about this position please share with us why you would be an asset to Arbor, and what personal goals you have outside of this position as we seek to develop people, not just take from them.
