Description
We currently seek a Duty Manager to ensure all guests are received in a manner befitting The Ashford Castle Hotel. The main focus will be to present and maintain an environment that will ensure guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities of the Duty Manager will include:
• To monitor daily operations in the hotel liaising with all relevant HODs to ensure that all departments are staffed effectively and are organised to meet daily business needs
• To be fully aware of what is happening in the hotel at all times i.e. functions hosted onsite, VIP Sheet, etc. hosting daily function sheet meetings, and planning appropriately to ensure that that all guests & visitors onsite receive the highest standards of service and personal attention
• To manage standards and service levels in all areas of the operation, ensuring that product & service quality meets the required standard, and corrective action is taken as appropriate
• To liaise with Guests – having a visual presence during peak times i.e. breakfast service, check out, check in, lunch time, group arrivals, dinner service etc.
• To be actively involved in all aspects of daily operations in a ‘hands on’ and supportive capacity
• To ensure that Senior Management are informed of any relevant issues, complaints or problems that may arise and that appropriate action is taken to resolve these
• To be aware of the Health & Safety and Security Procedures in the hotel and ensure that these are adhered to
• Leading by example in providing the Guest, at all times, with the highest levels of guest care and personal attention, where possible anticipating the guests needs and initiating actions to exceed expectations where possible

The ideal candidate for the Duty Manager position should:

• Have previous experience in a similar role within the 5 star hospitality environment
• Demonstrate strong communication skills
• Have strong attention to detail
• Have strong leadership & people management skills
• Have the ability to handle busy situations and manage workload effectively
• Have a friendly & outgoing personality
• Be enthusiastic & flexible (need to work 5 days over 7 day period, inclusive of some weekends)
• Be legally eligible to work in Ireland
