The RoleThe Cook is responsible for performing the full cooking process using the restaurant’s assigned recipes. This includes preparing and measuring ingredients; grilling, frying, broiling, baking and sautéing; checking for the proper doneness and taste; adjusting seasoning and temperature for best results and set plate presentations. The cook is fully responsible for all aspects of the cooking station. Ensures that the cooking station and preparation area meets all set sanitation guidelines and proper product rotation. Our cooks work neatly and cleanly, and have the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

The RequirementsAs a Cook, we would love you to have:
- At least 2 years of related high-volume experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
- Maintains local health department food handler’s certification up to date and current
- Able to speak, comprehend and understand English
- Able to talk and hear directions in a loud kitchen environment
- A passion for food and the cooking position, exceptional work ethic and dedication
- Knowledge and passion for Japanese cuisine is a plus
- Able to perform in a team serving environment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift 30+ lbs
