This is a fantastic opportunity for growth and to work for a great company in Boston. We are currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team. You will work closely with the current HR team to support the daily needs of our Boston based businesses at a time of substantial growth. Many HR initiatives are taking place and we need your help to develop and implement them. The successful candidate will be motivated, be able to wear many hats and work independently. This role requires someone who is flexible, willing to take on administrative tasks as well as HR project related work. This job is a great opportunity for someone who loves to be involved with all aspects of human resources and is looking for a challenging new position.

The ideal candidate will be able to utilize technology and demonstrate strong HRIS skills to complete HR transactions and oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files on all employees.
Monitors the eligibility and administration of all benefit programs including: health insurance, retirement savings programs, HSA, LTD, vacation and sick time. In addition, monitors and communicates ACA and open enrollment for company benefits.
Provides required documentation in response to unemployment claims. Participate in unemployment hearings as needed. Ensure that paperwork is complete and documentation is thorough so the company’s position can be legally and effectively represented.
Ensure worker’s compensation claims are properly documented and reported. Ensure that there is an active safety committee, safety programs are implemented, and that employees are motivated to follow safety.

Assist with administration and tracking of: TIPS Certification for Employees, Servsafe Certification for Managers, Allergy Certification for Managers and Crowd Control Manager Training.

Restaurant managers are responsible for managing work force issues; therefore, HR trains managers on how best to handle HR matters that can be resolved without the assistance of the HR department. HR's responsibility includes training restaurant floor managers on resolvable performance issues and employee relations matters.

Maintain the restaurant's compliance with employment regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, ACA and overtime pay. HR also ensures the restaurant complies with other federal and state fair employment practices.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, government agencies, and company policies and procedures (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act, Employment Standards, employee records administration, etc.). Conduct annual HR compliance/standards, self-audit. Communicate and interpret all company policies and procedures. Review and make recommendations as appropriate to management and/or Human Resources Director to improve HR policies, procedures and practices.

The Ideal Candidate:
HR experience in Hospitality industry preferred. Maintain confidentiality to the extent possible in all HR-related matters. Will have above average skill level on all Microsoft office products. Experience with Commonwealth Payroll and Harri a bonus.

Education and/or Experience:
BS College or university degree preferred and 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
