We are looking for an experienced and charismatic Head Maître d’ to join the team at Balthazar, part of Caprice Holdings.

Balthazar is renowned for delivering a friendly and flawless service within a Parisian style, lively and bustling brassiere. The French brasserie and bistro dishes combine the best ingredients with the most traditional methods to produce food of exceptional quality. The restaurant delivers all day dining from a team who are passionate about delivering friendly, relaxed and energetic service in a vibrant environment.

As Head Maître d’ you will ensure that the highest levels of service are provided to all of our guests. You will be responsible for greeting and seating our guests and taking reservations over the telephone. You will be highly effective at building relationships with our guests and understanding preferences to then effectively communicate to the front of house team pre and during service. You must be a confident and engaging communicator who can build relationships with guests and ensure they only have a positive experience while at Balthazar.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have:
• Previous experience in a Head Maître d’ role within a private members’ club or busy, high profile, high quality restaurant
• A genuine passion for creating an excellent guest experience
• Impeccable appearance, an engaging personality and the ability to remain calm at all times
• The ability to multi task and effectively react to changing guest needs
• Be a natural and confident communicator both face to face and on the telephone
• Be organised and motivated and see tasks through to completion
• Possess an excellent command of the English language
• Be an excellent team player with good administration skills
• Previous experience of online reservation booking systems is highly desirable
• A keen interest in the theatre, arts, current affairs and politics is desirable
