Event Head Bartender (Freelance)

Bistrotheque opened 17 years ago and was inspired by the humble French Bistro. We are located between Bethnal Green and Hackney, in a two-storey unmarked warehouse. Over time, we’ve built a loyal following of stylish East Londoners who appreciate quality and consistency. The team is small and friendly and we believe in mutual respect. 

THE ROLE We are looking for a Freelance Head Bartender with availability to work on events, both at Bistrotheque or elsewhere. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience of organising drinks for a variety of events from 50 to 500 guests. Work could be either at Bistrotheque or elsewhere. You would ensure drinks flowed quickly, efficiently and consistently to spec. This is work without a fixed schedule with good remuneration. We will contact our events team when a job is booked giving them an opportunity to accept on a first-come-first-served basis. This is a great role if you have something else in your life: study, another job, other freelancing.

HOURS Varied hours per week. Events could occur at any time during the week.

LOCATION E2, very close to Cambridge Heath Overground and a short walk to Bethnal Green Underground.

REMUNERATION £18.00 per hour by invoice paid the end of the week following the event.

At least two years of cocktail bartending experience, preferably with a good knowledge of dispense bars and drinks service. You are passionate about great drinks and great service. You understand that the bar is a business that needs to be organised & professional under the bonnet. This is about teamwork and managing within a framework, so no massive egos. Consistency, attention to detail and good organisation are your trademarks. We are drawn to those who are team players and able to cope with the unexpected turns events can sometimes take.
