We are looking for freelance Sous Chefs with availability to work both events and/or restaurant services, at Bistrotheque. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and have experience delivering dining events to groups of 20 to 120 guests and restaurant services of 180 guests.
This is work without a fixed schedule with good remuneration. We will contact you a month in advance for your availability for service shifts or when an event is booked giving you the opportunity to accept jobs on a first-come-first-served basis. This is a great role if you have something else in your life: study, another job, other freelancing.
- Hours: Varied hours per week. Events could occur at any time during the week. Services: Thursday through Sunday.
- Location: E2, very close to Cambridge Heath Overground and a short walk to Bethnal Green Underground.
- Remuneration: £18.00 per hour by invoice paid the end of the week following the event
Bistrotheque opened 17 years ago and was inspired by the humble French Bistro. We are located between Bethnal Green and Hackney, in a two-storey unmarked warehouse. Over time, we’ve built a loyal following of stylish East Londoners who appreciate quality and consistency. The team is small and friendly and we believe in mutual respect.
At least 2 years experience in a quality/volume kitchen with at least 1 year at sous chef level. Consistency, attention to detail and good organisation are your trademarks. We are drawn to those who are team players and able to work within a framework with sufficient flexibility to cope with the unexpected turns events can sometimes take.
Must have Level 2 food safety, Level 3 is ideal.
