Kitchen Manager

Description

About Boston

At Boston, our purpose is to Make Things Better. Whether that’s serving the softest scrambled eggs or the silkiest flat white, offering the warmest welcome in town or standing strong on single-use plastic; we want to prove that doing good is good for business.

Sound like a bit of you? Then read on…

About the role

We’re looking for a Kitchen Manager to jump in and lead our kitchen team, delivering great food from wonderful produce and building a team that grows in confidence and keeps a sense of calm when things get busy. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the running of all the kitchen operations and for developing the kitchen team. Theplay an integral role in how a customer feels leaving Boston, whether they’ve been on service themselves, or nurtured one of their team to smash it out the park. We believe that working together – looking after our people and the planet, will result in a sustainable profitable business.

Our Kitchen Managers are supported by the General Manager, an Operations Manager and the wider BTP team.

We believe that a balance between work and play is essential for human happiness, that's why we don't ask our people to work late or do split shifts.

Are you our person?

You’ll be both people and food focused. Your keen eye for detail will mean that only top-quality food leaves your kitchen. You will believe that great ingredients, cooked with care will convert into loyal customers. You will have a good bit of kitchen experience with your beady eye on health and safety and be used to working closely with both a kitchen and front of house team. Your customers are always a priority and you’ll support your whole café team in delivering great Boston experiences.

You will care about well-sourced ingredients and be conscious of the decisions you and the business make, as we want to have a long-term positive impact on the world around us.

You will be confident in your ability to train and develop your kitchen team, sharing knowledge, identifying training opportunities and helping them grow.

We want a good level of kitchen experience for this role, but we recruit on shared values, so if you think like us, get applying…

  • Were authentic – this is a place where you’re accepted for who you are.

  • Were honest – with everyone, it’s always the answer.

  • Were empathetic – we think beyond ourselves to the needs of our customers, team and planet.

  • Were determined – we always look to learn and improve, searching for ways to make things better.

  • We cherish hospitality – it’s a proper job to make someone’s day.

In return we

Offer an exciting package and benefits, including;

  • 50% discount for you and up to 6 of your friends and family

  • Promote balance with most cafes closing at 6pm giving you evenings back

  • Free team meal and drinks on shift

  • Free Ecoffee cup of your choice when you join, to start you on your reusable journey

  • Your Pension contributions matched by BTP

  • Fantastic development programme within a growing brand with exciting opportunities

  • Recognition and reward programmes
