Paralegal

Description

Behind every BurgerFi experience is a commitment to fresh all-natural ingredients served in an upbeat, eco-friendly environment. We started in 2011 with a commitment to serve 100% Angus burgers that never contain antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. Our fries are hand-cut, our onion rings are hand-battered, and our milkshakes are hand-spun. We have a diverse, promote-from-within culture that celebrates and supports you, at every step in your career. Are you interested in joining the team? If so, please apply online or in-person!

The Corporate Paralegal will assist the Legal Department with all aspects of processing a wide range of corporate transactions in the franchise practice area. Candidates should be detail oriented, organized and able to take ownership of projects to bring them to thorough and on-time completion. We are a small and tight-knit department so willingness to pitch-in, even outside of primary areas of responsibility, and work cooperatively is a must.

What We Expect

• Working with our Chief Legal Officer and Associate Counsel, assist with the franchise disclosure process and other franchise compliance issues for prospective and current franchisees, including filing the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), FDD amendments, and renewals.

• Administer and issue all Franchise Agreements and related documents, such as amendments, default notices, termination and settlement agreements.

• Manage the franchise compliance process, including franchise ownership, entity formation, resolutions and partnership documents, Franchise Agreement key dates and milestones.

• Basic maintenance and/or monitoring of certificates, leases and other commercial contracts.

• Provide support on general corporate matters, e.g., entity maintenance filings and business licenses, as needed.

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

• Certified Paralegal with at least five to ten years in generally relevant fields (franchising, general corporate and/or real estate) required.

• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently. Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to continually demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.

• Possesses very strong organizational, critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving abilities. • Basic workplace proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), basic Google suite tools, and e-mail

What We Offer

• Benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision (must meet eligibility requirements)

• Paid Time Off

• Opportunities to advance your career
