Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Event Manager will manage mechanicals involved in executing a successful banquet or special event. They work with the F&B GM to coordinate with kitchen staff to get details of the menu, food preparation activities, and service standards.

Their primary responsibility is to ensure that elements of a venue are ready before guests arrive, including the dining tables, bar, food, and beverages. During the event, they interact with the host and Event Sales Manager to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments. They monitor the activities of workers and guests and respond to questions, complaints, or comments
that may arise. They also supervise cleanup, inventory, and storage of supplies and equipment.

They aim to create “Raving Fans” through effective communication and following Standard Operating Procedures.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Must be able to work in a fast paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
● Occasionally work up to 40+ hours per week, depending on the needs of the property.
● Must be able to spend a minimum of 90% of working time standing.
● The ability to walk, bend, kneel, handle, reach, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and other related physical activities.
● Comfortable working in walk-in coolers and freezers.
● The ability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed.
● Able to read and follow written/oral instructions
● Be at least 21 years of age.
● The ability to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays, as needed.
● Safety and sanitation fundamentals. Practice safe and effective methods of work, use of equipment, cleaners and tools.
● Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
● Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
● ServSafe Certification required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist in event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery
elements within time limits.
● Effectively schedule and communicate scheduled shifts to Event Staff through approved
scheduling platform.
● Examine the cleanliness of the venue, such as the condition of the bathrooms, prior to a
function.
● Effectively manage staff on the day of event in accordance to the Run Of Show.
● Ensure food & beverages being served are up to the Chevy Chase Country Club
standard.
● Liaise with Event Manager to identify client needs and to ensure ultimate satisfaction.
● Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality.
● Organize facilities and manage all event’s mechanical details such as decor, catering
supplies, entertainment supplies, location, equipment, promotional material etc.
● Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
● Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities.
● Brief staff on execution of events upon their arrival to the venue and ensure the scope of
work is fully understood.
● Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the
event day.
● Generate full Run Of Show based on BEO’s a minimum of 7 days in advance. Make
changes as needed leading up to the event.
● Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes.

TEAMWORK REQUIREMENTS:
● Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get
along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat co-workers, supervisors and
members/guests with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate
and/or violent behavior.
● Create positive relationships with staff by treating all members with respect.
● Report equipment and/or building damages to supervisor immediately.
● Take initiative to solve problems.
● Utilize required checklists every day.
● Excellent time management and communication skills
● Ability to manage multiple projects independently
● Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
● Possess strong organizational and multitasking skills.
