Sommelier 

Salary - £45,000 pa

Contract - Full time , 5 shifts, between Monday - Sunday. 

Here at Chotto Matte Soho, we are looking for a new team member to join as a Sommelier.

The Role

Your primary role is to engage with guests, assist them with their wine choices, provide in-depth knowledge of our Wine Program and the wines offered, as well as giving suggestions on food and wine pairing. When needed you’ll help the team with orders, payments and be of service to the guests.

General Duties

Selecting wines and beverages and pairing them to the menu for any incoming enquiry.

Advising customers on the best choice of wine for their meal.

Serving wines for the guests at the correct temperature and in the correct manner.

Making sure every team member is following the standards of wine service.

Ordering, controlling and rotating stock.

Dealing with deliveries and any related to wine questions.

Managing the wine fridges, wine cellar and special wine accessories (decanters, stoppers, Ah-So etc..)

Assisting with other front-of-house tasks such as operating tills and tidying up.

The successful candidate will show the ability to adhere to company standards of service quality, preparation,and presentation.

Ensure that the guests are served in a timely manner and are attentive to the guests throughout the wine service.

Assists the Head Sommelier with any incoming tasks.

Knowledge,Personal Skills and Preferred Experience 

3 years experience in a similar position.

WSET or similar wine qualification.

Exceptional knowledge of wine and all related facets.

Excellent command of English language (Written and spoken).

Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.

Passionate about wine, self-motivated, continuously seeking to succeed and progress with a career at Chotto Matte.

Flexible and committed.

Lively, enthusiastic and confident.

Ability to handle difficult situations successfully.

Strong organisational skills.
