Reports to: ​General Manager/ National Director of Marketing​
Status: ​​Exempt

Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of local marketing and brand promotion of City Winery. This role manages the development and execution of local marketing programs, supports business objectives and increases local business development, leads customer acquisition, and fosters customer retention. This role works closely with internal departments to increase City Winery’s appeal to potential customers, while managing brand messaging to customers and media relationships. Serving as an ambassador of the City Winery brand, the Marketing Manager will work closely with outlets to secure branded opportunities across radio, television, and digital platforms to promote visibility.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing management role in hospitality setting, and/or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a team
• Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
• Professional and effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, both written and oral
• Proficient computer and technological skills including expertise in digital media
• Must be detail oriented with particular strength in time management and organization
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce deliverables within strict deadlines
• Excellent listening and presentation skills
• Appreciation and general understanding of the music, food, and wine business
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays as needed
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk regularly
• Must be able to travel as needed
• Bachelors degree preferred in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Visual Arts, or related field


Overview of Responsibilities
Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Build marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of City Winery’s overall strategic marketing plan
• Market through various channels and segment databases
• Research and recommend marketing tactics to increase visibility of the brand and gain customer acquisition
• Manage consumer insight data and utilize to continually review and improve marketing strategy and communications
• Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and vendors
• Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration with internal teams, and leveraging the proper internal processes
• Oversee marketing department staff, assign and delegate responsibilities, and oversee proper and continued training
• Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and monitor performance of marketing staff
• Coordinate weekly programming email for VinoFile members and maintain database
• Create all events in web system
• Develop, grow and administer email databases, including audience & prospect information, mailing list applications, etc.
• Focus on undersold shows; collaborate with Programming team to strategize opportunities for improvement
• Manage media contacts in music, wine and food channels. Establish and maintain good standing with key reviewers, bloggers, writers and traditional media tastemakers. Collaborate with outside PR Agency on press releases and listings to be sent weekly
• Oversee and ensure all marketing collateral is up to date in venue at all times
• Conceive, design and create effective and cost-efficient marketing collateral across all departments in coordination with Graphic Designer, including Quarterly Brochure, Insertions, Postcards, Posters, Slide Show, Other Printed Material (created booklets, mailers and in-house marketing materials, etc.
• Build and maintain up-to-date media databases with targeted outlet lists in music, food, wine
• Oversee and manage all social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.
• Oversee donation/philanthropic requests including gift-giving and auction requests; some requests may require external approval.
• Collaborate and meet regularly with the internal departments to coordinate projects and ensure consistent messaging
• Manage and submit bi-monthly marketing report highlighting goals and expectations
• Monitor reviews on sites such as Yelp, Trip Advisor, etc. and alert GM for prompt response
• Work with Special & Private Events Teams to help promote when appropriate; collaborate with teams to create and promote beverage and food-based events.
• Promote Artist Wine Program, winemaking, wine dinners, tours, and other winery highlights
• Collaborate with Operational Management to ensure all CW retail items are displayed to promote sales and all in-house collateral is up-to-date and displayed in designated areas.
• Work alongside GM on any mobile or discount site promotions for F&B.
• Oversee City Winery’s electronic marketing efforts including uploading all information to website to keep it active and current.
• Update home page and show information with focus on time sensitive shows and events and/or those with large financial investment. Collect photos and logos to upload to site from Programming or Talent directly.
• Update Facebook page; make additional connections for show promotions and make sure artists are promoting shows on their sites as well.
• Oversee and manage digital marketing; ensure high level of exposure utilizing social media while maintain brand standards
• Drive traffic to our website through external links, including all artists websites, wine event websites, partner websites, etc.
• Collaborate with all departments on content to create blog posts bi-weekly for homepage
• Attend meetings and trainings as needed
• Additional projects, tasks, duties as per business need
