JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Host
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Job Class: Hourly

Our hosts are expected to be a dynamic individual tasked with both greeting and managing all City Winery
evening visitors and inquiries, as well as assisting in performing various tasks relating to future reservations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Manage all call ins and walk in inquiries, directing to appropriate departmental contacts or taking
messages and communicating to such departments as necessary
● Ensure lobby and dining rooms are tidy and presentable and set up/rearrange dining room for dinner
accordingly
● Greet guests as soon as they walk through the door, serving as brand ambassador for City Winery
● Escort guests to seats and set them up for a pleasurable dining experience
● Manage miscellaneous day to day communications, including but not limited to, voicemails, emails,
deliveries, and reservation calls and communicate any important reservations/guest inquiries to Lead
Host or management, as necessary
● Pass on any relevant reservation or event information to evening Restaurant Manager
● Follow proper reservation and seating procedures
● Provide patrons with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
● Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment
● Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
● Learn food and beverage menu
● Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for waitstaff
● Additional projects as needed as determined by Management
● Perform other related duties as assigned by Management and the Beverage Director
