Job Description : Barback
Reports to: All Managers and Beverage Director
Job Class: Non Exempt

Position Summary:
Barback duties are to focus on interaction with CW guests, fellow workers and CW management in a
professional service industry manner. Duties also include knowledge of liquor, wine and beer that are
available daily at CW and maximizing beverage sales. Barbacks are to set an example of top quality service
while assuming full responsibility for the day to day bar maintenance, cleanliness and organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
● Enforce Federal, State and City laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholic
beverages.
● Adhere to and abide by cash handling procedures as developed by national and local management
● As necessary, serving wine, beer and liquor in proper proportions and glassware and charging
proper prices for beverages
● Serving of food from the proper menus, providing quality control and charging the proper prices for
food
● Maintain daily inventories behind bars at beginning of shift and at the end
● Maintain cleanliness of work areas including bar, floor, shelves, taps, coolers, and storage areas
● Maintain an organized workspace, keeping and storing things in their proper places
● Ensure that work areas are properly supplied with glassware, garnishes, silverware, napkins, pens,
paper, and other appropriate supplies
● Attend Tastings, meetings and encourage staff education as well
● Perform other related duties as assigned by Management and the Beverage Director
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
● Have an extensive knowledge of wine and beer and cocktail making, or develop such skills via
Beverage Director
● Have an approachable presentation of knowledge and ability to execute professional service
● Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results- oriented, restaurant environment
● Ability to maintain positive guest experience and exceed guest expectations
● Have the ability to take initiative, follow-through on request until completion, and utilize a keen
attention to detail
