Description
Position Summary:
Coordinates production and distribution of all desserts and bakery items. Supervises all pastry production and pastry staff. Maintains highest standards of quality of all baked goods and pastry items. Reports directly to Executive Chef.

Overview of Responsibilities:
- Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Management of pastry team, which includes:
- Writing schedules
- Tasking pastry staff with producing weekly specials
- Menu research, development, and execution
- Recipe research, writing and costing
- Organization and execution of desserts including Special Events, Wine Dinners, special occasion cakes, wedding cakes and daily baked goods
- Efficient and quick plating during service, including lunch, brunch and dinner
- Organizing and executing Dessert Programming with other department heads including ticketed dessert events and dessert classes.
- Ordering and inventory of pastry kitchen
- Monitors production to maximize quality and minimize waste.
- Enforce company policies and departmental handbooks.
- Training of new employees.
- Utilizes proper food handling techniques following health and safety standards.
