Adult Support Worker - Waking Nights

Description

To celebrate our 11th Birthday, we are offering a £500 welcome bonus for new applicants who join us on or before 15th November 2021 (T&C’s apply)

DESCRIPTION

Start your day knowing you'll make a difference - join our team of Support Workers in our Supported Living Service across Manchester and create a positive difference that improves the lives of the people we support.

This is a waking nights position from 8pm to 8am, on a rolling rota 4 nights on and 4 nights off with the opportunity to pick up ad-hoc overtime.

The Role of a Support Worker

As a Support Worker you will provide support and companionship to a range of adults within one of our dedicated supported living properties.  Our clients vary from adults with learning disabilities to those who experience mental health issues, and you will be offering a supportive ear, calm presence whilst still bringing an element of fun into their daily activities and needs.

You will be promoting independence with all our clients and enabling them to live an independent and fulfilling lifestyle. You must be self-motivated, and ensure the quality of support provided is consistent with current legislation.

This is a fast paced yet highly rewarding position. You will need to think on your feet, be reliable and punctual, as the people you support will be relying on you to help them live their best lives!

Your role will have lots of variety, but some of your main tasks will include:

  • Developing clients life skills and personal interests
  • Supporting clients with medication and ensuring they achieve their own goals and aspirations
  • Arranging social activities in the home and in the local community
  • Promoting the independence of every client we support

We are looking for people who:

  • Use previous experience and/or existing transferrable skills to promote independent living for all our clients
  • May have experience with Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disabilities in a work setting or from personal experience (this isn’t essential as we provide all the training!)
  • Have a natural sense of empathy and good common sense
  • Will have an easy-going personality and are understanding of others who may display behaviour that can present challenges
  • Have great organisational skills and ability to think outside the box
  • May be a driver with access to your own vehicle, although this is not essential
  • Are punctual, reliable and have the ability to think quickly and effectively

About Compassionate Care Group

Compassionate Care are a family run, award-winning care company with a core passion in providing high-quality and reliable care within the community and supported living services.

  • Competitive hourly rate starting from £9.50 (with 50p per hour addition for night working, 8pm-8am, ensuring our night staff earn at least £10 per hour)
