Bakery Manager - District Doughnut Kitchen


Reporting to: Director of Bakery Operations (DBO), Executive Pastry Chef

Responsible for: Oversight and management of all production and Bakery processes and maintenance, as well as District Doughnut culture, including but not limited to labor, training and hiring, inventory management, and vendor relations at District Doughnut’s 8th St. / Barracks Row location.

Compensation: $35,000-40,000 annual base salary based on experience
PTO (as defined in Company PTO policy)
Performance based incentives

Expected Hours: 40 hours and 5 days/week including at least every other weekend

Main duties and responsibilities:
Management of Company Culture by
Leading and maintaining a Doughfessional environment at all times
Adhering to all company policies
Holding employees accountable to all company policies and position requirements
Working at least one shift in each Bakery position monthly
Conducting regular employee appraisals with all staff
Directing Bakery team meetings alongside DBO and Executive Pastry Chef
Communicating through company wide channels including Slack and Homebase

Management of Labor Cost through
Scheduling employees at least two weeks in advance (Homebase)
Tracking employee workloads against labor targets and goals
Holding employees accountable to their scheduled hours and responsibilities
Overseeing production schedule to ensure that teams are meeting timelines while keeping the quality of product at a Doughfessional level
Monitoring of equipment checklist and standardization of daily, weekly, and monthly production equipment maintenance in collaboration with DBO
Working with DBO and Executive Pastry Chef to enhance and implement company-wide standards for execution and training of all Bakery processes

Management of Food Cost through
Monitoring inventory and waste (dough, prep, etc.) through inventory management system (Simple Order) by
Receiving and invoicing orders
Keeping up relationships with vendors
Contacting vendors as needed when issues or concerns with orders arise
Checking off on orders as they arrive to location
Ordering on an as needed basis, often in collaboration with Retail Manager

Coordinating with Executive Pastry Chef on matters of product and menu cycle
Maintaining a clean and organized Bakery with interval deep cleans
Ensuring that every staff member is trained thoroughly in his/her position and is meeting his/her goals and company standards

Basic Requirements:
Available full-time
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Technologically competent
Prompt arrival and immediate preparedness for responsibilities
Bakery-appropriate attire and footwear
