Established in 1987, Docks Oyster Bar specializes in bringing the freshest seafood to Manhattan. Located in the heart of midtown, the expansive bar and tables lining the windows of 3rd Avenue and 40th Street further creates a timeless New York atmosphere. We pride ourselves on our well prepared food, outstanding service, great wine list, and unforgettable ambience to keep guests coming back time and time again.

 The Opportunity

Our Baristas play an integral part of restaurant operations. They prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and tend to guests. 

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepares and sells coffee drinks following Dock's recipes and preparation techniques.

• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, performing preventive maintenance, informing Management of necessary repairs.

• Executes all orders within a timely manner for tableside service.

• Maintains coffee bar inventory by replenishing coffee bean supply, coffee, brewing equipment.

• Sets up workstation with required tools, equipment and supplies according to standards.

Quality candidates will be:

• Team players with strong work ethic.
• Responsible and trustworthy.
• Motivated with a desire to work in a restaurant, learn, and grow.
• Willing to offer assistance whenever asked.
• Organized, clean, self-sufficient, and capable of working fast. 

Requirements:

• A minimum 3 years of experience in a well-rated restaurant.
• A culinary degree or other culinary training.
• Prior experience as a Barista.
• A spirit of cooperation with co-workers and managers. 
• Ability to learn how to safely use and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Ability to learn, understand, and execute hygiene and safety rules. 
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, carry up to 50 pounds, walk and stand for shift duration. 
• Commitment to maintaining availability that aligns with needs of the business
