Description
Downtown Los Angeles Proper Hotel is looking for a Purchasing Manager. This historic 148-room renovated Hotel with two restaurants, Event venues, and a spectacular rooftop bar is scheduled to open in 2020 and will be the next exciting addition to the Proper Brand.

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for following established procedures in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing and payment of items and formulating an approved vendors list encompassing all categories. The Purchasing Manager must be detail-oriented with high knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

Responsibilities
• Coordinates and communicates with all departments in all purchasing matters
• Controls purchasing procedures and follows up to ensure timely delivery, or to arrange alternate procurement of supplies, when needed
• Prioritizes the purchasing efforts, reviews agreement searches for new suppliers, recommends a change of products, secures samples of new items, checks the background of new suppliers including their performance track record

Requirements
• 3 -5 years of experience in a similar position in Hotel/Restaurant operations is required
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and approach hotel staff and vendors with professional courtesy
• Organizational skills are required to maintain records, inventories, and storerooms
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Flexible schedule – Willing and able to work shift duties that may include events, nights, weekends and holidays

Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
