Assistant Housekeeping Manager


Description

Downtown Los Angeles Proper Hotel is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager. This historic 148-room renovated Hotel with two restaurants, Event venues and a spectacular rooftop bar is scheduled to open in Spring 2021 and will be the next exciting addition to the Proper Brand.

Reporting directly to the Housekeeping Manager, the Assistant Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for overseeing housekeeping operations to deliver an excellent Guest experience while monitoring housekeeping standards.

Job Overview
• Assist with overseeing Housekeeping operations
• Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules
• Support departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, and policies and procedures
• Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Housekeeping Team with emphasis on training and teamwork
• Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities
• Assist the Housekeeping Manager to maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers
• Ensure staffing levels cover business demands
• Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications
• Housekeeping experience in the hotel setting preferred
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Committed to delivering high levels of customer server
• Flexible to respond to a range of different work situations
• Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Collaborate with Colleagues cross-departmentally
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team

Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
