Description

Downtown Los Angeles Proper Hotel is seeking candidates for Director of Operations. This historic 148-room renovated project with two restaurants, event venues and a spectacular rooftop bar is scheduled to open in Spring 2021 and will be the next exciting addition to Proper Hospitality.

 

The Director of Operations will oversee the daily operations of the Hotel as well as provide leadership and guidance for all departments. He or She will assist the General Manager in maximizing the financial performance of the Hotel by providing the highest possible quality of guest service and product, by fostering a positive work environment for all colleagues and assisting in implementing a robust Sales and Marketing plan. In absence of the General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operation of the Hotel. Must possess strong personal organization, genuine hospitality, and care for colleagues. Understands and implements contemporary luxury/lifestyle standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·       Define, implement and revise operational standards and guidelines

·       Work hand in hand with Human Resources to recruit, develop and retain top talent

·       Assist with the execution of overall strategies for the property

·       Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts

·       Oversee daily, weekly and monthly operations meetings to ensure timely and clear communication of priorities

·       Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the property according to federal, state and local regulations

·       Direct and oversee the cleanliness and integrity of the design elements throughout the property

·       Direct and oversee adherence with COVID-19 regulations for guests and colleagues

 

Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree required

 

Experience: Minimum 10 years of Hotel or Resort Management experience required. Previous Hotel Manager or Director of Operations experience is also required.
