Brian Boru of Westchester Inc. is a full service Food and Beverage Company specialized in providing exceptional cuisine, dessert, and a full spectrum of events here at Empire City Casino. Brian Boru is seeking a Floor Supervisor with an interest in the Food and Beverage/Hospitality industry that possesses enthusiasm, commitment, and leadership skills necessary in a thriving team oriented environment. The ideal candidate should share our passion for providing quality, tasteful, prompt, and authentic service to all guests of the casino.
Responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the Stewarding Manager.
o Assist in supervising, leading, training, coaching, and developing, a team of stewards, porters, and kitchen utility staff
o Ensure all staff members arrive for their shift on time, prepared, and properly groomed
o Assign designated work station to all staff and ensure the sanitization, cleanliness, and organization of all kitchens and outlets by staff
o Ensure that all garbage and recycling removal is completed in a timely manner
o Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and properly stored after an event is held
o Ensure all storage rooms are kept clean and organized
o Ensure the proper usage of all chemicals within the department and outlets are in accordance with MSDS book
o Encourage participation and input from all staff members while promoting professional work habits to ensure the department is operating efficiently at all times
o Ensure the consistency of all inter-departmental communication and cooperation to guarantee guest satisfaction
o Present oneself with a neat and clean appearance at all times
o Comply with all department and company rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls, and government rules and regulations
o Ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements of all employees
o Promote positive public and employee relations
o Attend periodic meetings and training sessions
o Perform other duties as assigned
o Must possess a minimum of 1 year experience working as a previous supervisor in Food & Beverage
o Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
o Must possess strong communication, organizational, delegation, and supervisory skills
o Must be a friendly, outgoing, and hospitable team player who collaborates well with all individuals
o Must be knowledgeable of the elements of food service
o Must possess great attention to detail
o Must possess an open/flexible scheduled with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
o Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing)
o Must possess the ability to make decisions independently
o Must possess the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
o Must possess the ability to push and pull heavy equipment up to 500lbs.
o Must possess the ability to oversee designated work area and employee performance
o Must possess the ability to comply with all company safety policies and their requirements (including attendance at training meetings as scheduled)
o Must possess the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, and stretch for extended periods of time
o Servsafe certification preferred
o Must be at least 18 years old and bale to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the NY State Gaming Commission Regulations
