Seeks Floor Supervisor

Empire City Casino is one of Southern Westchester’s most premier venues. Conveniently located in Yonkers alongside the legendary location of Yonkers Raceway (just minutes away from NYC), Empire City brings a trending, easygoing, opulent crowd any time of day. Brian Boru of Westchester Inc. is a full service Food and Beverage Company specialized in providing exceptional cuisine, dessert, and a full spectrum of events here at Empire City Casino. Brian Boru is seeking a Beverage Floor Supervisor with an interest in the Food and Beverage/Hospitality industry that possesses charisma, precision, commitment, and the leadership skills necessary in a thriving team oriented environment. The ideal candidate should share our passion for providing quality, tasteful, prompt, and authentic service to all guests of the casino.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the Beverage Manager.

o Assist the beverage managers in supervising, directing, and training the beverage staff of 50+ employees
o Educate and develop staff
o Create, implement, and up-sell special promotions
o Formulate and communicate new ideas to the beverage managers
o Lead pre-shift meeting with beverage team before each shift begins
o Create assigned floor plans and delegate designated location to beverage team
o Void and correct beverage team transactions
o Ensure quality customer service is being upheld by all team members
o Stock supplies and track inventory on requisition system
o Assist in ensuring the cleanliness of the food and beverage areas including but not limited to service bars, public bars, gaming floor of the casino
o Participate in inventory stock and supplies
o Participate in the development and implementation of quality service program
o Present oneself with a neat and clean appearance at all times
o Comply with all department and company rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls, and government rules and regulations
o Ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements of all employees
o Promote positive public and employee relations
o Attend periodic meetings and training sessions
o Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

o Must possess a minimum of one (1) year experience working as a successful Supervisor in a high volume restaurant, bar, catering hall, nightclub, or similar environment
o Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Business Management, Hospitality, or similar
o Must possess extensive knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor
o Must possess strong communication, organizational, delegation, and supervisory skills
o Must be a friendly, outgoing, and hospitable team player who collaborates well with all individuals
o Must be knowledgeable of the elements of food service
o Must possess an open/flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
o Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English (both orally and in writing)
o Must possess the ability to take direction and listen attentively to managers and customers
o Must possess the ability to formulate and communicate ideas analytically and logically
o Must possess the ability to troubleshoot, make decisions independently, possess a sense of urgency and provide conflict resolution when necessary
o Must possess the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and multi-task assignments and projects
o Must possess the ability to work in a team environment and be a team player
o Must possess the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
o Must possess the ability to oversee designated work area and employee performance
o Must possess strong computer skills with extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office
o Must possess knowledge in all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to food and beverage handling, storing, and service
o Must possess the ability to comply with all company safety policies and their requirements (including attendance at training meetings as scheduled)
o Must possess the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, and stretch for extended periods of time
o Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the NY State Gaming Commission Regulations
o Experience working in a Union environment preferred
o Valid TIPS Certification preferred
o Valid Servsafe Certification preferred
