Sales and Events Manager


Description
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the below:
• Active, targeted outreach to build future business relationships resulting in increased revenues
• Budget and profit management
• Maintain existing relationships and foster new relationships to generate new business
• Create and send proposals to interested clients
• Interface directly with FOH, BOH and Event Managers
• Oversee negotiation of contracts, create invoices and manage client billing
• Maintain up to date notes on all potential events and clients
• Develop relationships with outside vendors and negotiated rates for our clients
• Conduct client walkthroughs
• Monitor competitive pricing
• Monthly reporting including key performance metrics, lead generation, revenue and operations
• Conduct event trend research in food, beverage, service and décor
• Attend weekly manager meetings
• Conduct weekly sales team meeting
• Determine when sales team members should be present for events from setup to execution

The ideal candidate will have the following:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Event Management with a background that has similar quality standards
• Restaurant/F&B experience a plus
• Self-starter and must have the desire to drive the business forward
• Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
• Creative prospecting skills, consultative selling skills, ability to qualify prospects, and strong closing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and structured thinking for planning and execution purposes
• Motivated, high level of energy and work ethic with an overall professional demeanor
• Knowledgeable and always up to date with the industry trends and competitors
• Dependable and reliable with clear thinking and attention to detail
• Thrives on finding intriguing solutions to ambiguous problems
• Knowledge of financials, budgeting, and costing a plus
• Professional presentation and ability to communicate with a diverse workforce
• Solid knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include holidays, weekends, and evenings
