Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Executive Chief/R&D Director in developing new products, ensuring compliance with government regulations that address food safety, documenting various analytical methodologies and performing testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure laboratory validation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains R & D recipes to ensure accuracy.
  • Work through all recipes in Data Central for accuracy
  • Assists the R&D Director in yielding tests.
  • Assists the R&D department to build a calendar of new products for testing.
  •  Traveling to test locations to validate procedures.   
  • Provide support at Food Cuttings.
  • Assist Marketing Department at photoshoots when necessary.
  • Performs all necessary cleaning procedures required.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Every employee is responsible for Food Safety.
  • Carries out product development projects.
  • Personnel Hygiene (including hand wash procedures)
  • Personnel Processing Practices
  • Allergen Procedures
  • Food Defense Procedures
  • Waste Disposal procedures
  • Foreign Matter Control
  • Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action: SQF Practitioner, Quality Management, Plant/Production Management, or Supervisors

 Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and can meet deadlines.
  • Works well with others
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
