Accountant

CAVA is a fast-growing culinary brand with a portfolio of fast casual restaurants and a packaged goods line dedicated to fresh, Mediterranean inspired, better-for-you cuisine. Born from a full service restaurant collaboration between three first-generation Greek American childhood friends in the Washington, D.C. area, our chef-driven fast casual format is currently in four regions with further expansion ahead.

We are looking for a highly motivated staff accountant to join our rapidly expanding accounting and finance team. You will assist in managing the accounting function for the 30+ current restaurants (and counting!) and work directly with the Accounting Manager.  

You will:
• Manage the accounts payable process on the store and corporate level, including working with store managers to ensure invoices are approved and processed timely
• Assist in processing and recording of the store level payroll  
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close process
• Correspond with vendors and federal and state agencies as needed
• Assist with various tasks as delegated such as preparation of schedules and support for our annual audit, data collection and analysis, process improvements, and accounting-related software implementation

You have:
• A BS in accounting is preferred but will consider applicants with accounting experience.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• A very good understanding of Microsoft Excel and it’s functions.
• Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
• Knowledge of restaurant and manufacturing accounting systems is a plus.
• Ability to manage your own schedule and be able to keep up in a fast paced environment with many simultaneous projects
