Architect

Firmdale Hotels has a very rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced architect to join their team. Reporting into our Development Director you will be the key lead from start to finish on all projects across our 10 hotels in London and New York and our other properties.

At Firmdale we believe ‘Hotels should be living things not stuffy institutions’ and we are looking for an architect who is skilled in generating new and creative designs at all stages. We are searching for a talented and committed individual with experience and professionalism looking for a new and exciting challenge.

This is very much a standalone role and you will be responsible from drawing the designs, to the administration and legalities and to the final delivery.

This is a great time to join Firmdale Hotels, for the successful candidate part of their responsibilities will be overseeing the design of our newest property at Bedford Place, converting the building into a 43 bedroom 5 star luxury boutique townhouse.

Main Duties:

• Preparing technical design and specification information
• Contributing to design and technical workshops for all projects
• Delivering the highest quality of drawn and written outputs at all times
• Preparing drawings, blueprints, specifications and construction documents
• Managing and fostering strong, productive relationships with stakeholders, consultants and contractors
• Strong understanding and experience of complying with safety standards and local planning regulations
• Managing information packages and responsibility for end to end delivery and integration into the project
• Determining and adhering to budgets and timelines

• At least 3 years’ experience of developing and design
• Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills
• Well organised
• Excellent collaborator
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Be a strong and engaged team player
• Proficient in AutoCad as a must and have some experience in Revit, Sketchup and Adobe CS
• Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards
