Description
The Campbell Bar is seeking Hosts to join our team!

Hospitality industry leader, Gerber Group, encompasses iconic venues under such brands as Mr. Purple, The Campbell Bar, Irvington Bar and Restaurant, Taco Electrico, The Crown at 50 Bowery, and The Sunken Lounge at the TWA Hotel, in New York City; additionally, Whiskey Blue in Atlanta, and 12 Stories Bar in Washington, D.C. are included in Gerber Group’s growing portfolio of venues.

The ideal candidate will perform calmly and successfully under pressure. Communicate with guests clearly, patiently, courteously and with good humor. A team player who is willing to take on the task at hand when assigned. Follow all manager instructions and confidently make appropriate judgement calls under stressful conditions. Open Table experience preferred.

Requirements:
• 1-2 years of Host experience

Must be willing and able to:
•Determine with the manager the proper amount of reservations to be accepted for each shift according to standing operating procedure.
•Take all reservation calls and record necessary information.
•Confirm applicable reservations according to standing operating procedure.
•Seat the restaurant evenly and in an orderly manner so that the location looks well filled at all times and so that all servers have a fair share of the guests.
•Follow all policies and procedures for reservations, including conveying reservation policy to guests.
•Maintain an accurate head count of guests seated in each station.
•Fill out completely all sections of a telephone message pad and pass on to the appropriate person within 10 minutes of the call.
•Check restrooms and coordinate with bus staff cleaning requirements.
•Ensure that host desk/book is kept clean and organized throughout the shift.
•Move tables as needed for larger or smaller parties.
•Complete all side work as assigned in a timely manner.
•Perform calmly and effectively under pressure.
•Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor.
•Communicate effectively with guests.
•Master the walkie-talkie system within 2 days.
•Master the telephone system within 2 days.
•Communicate problems to management immediately.
