Gran Morsi is hiring an Events Director!

Requirements for Consideration:
2 years of experience in NYC restaurant or hotel events.
Excellent written and verbal skills. Lives in or around NYC.

Job Description:

Our Events Director should understand our company in and out and must provide warm, professional service to all guests to create a memorable event for every occasion. They will possess enthusiasm, dedication, and be able to build create new relationships as well as keep existing relationships. This role requires heavy teamwork and communication.

The main responsibility for this role is sales, and communicating with clients and staff to ensure all event details are passed along.

Key Relationships: The General Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Floor Managers

Responsibilities:
• Meet monthly and annual sales goals.
• Actively respond to event inquiries via phone and email and provide comprehensive planning details.
• Prepare proposals, advise on menu selections, post confirmed events, update calendars, communicate any changes to Chef and management, monitor deposits and final payments.
• Conduct site visits with clients.
• Work occasional nights and weekends on a flexible schedule as needed, based on the events calendar.
• Supervise brunch, lunch and dinner events when required
• Direct staff on site during events and maintain staff training. Assist with service during events if necessary.
• Manage the day-to-day workings of the Events Department office.
• Update collateral materials including menus, information packets and floor plans.
• Maintain relationships with outside vendors as needed (florists, entertainment etc.).
• Collaborate with the beverage team to increase event wine sales while favoring inventory.
• Field inquiries and execute group catering on and off-site.
• Work with the restaurant management teams in a supportive and empathetic manner.

Compensation:
Base and Commission commensurate with experience.
