Senior Sous Chef

Description
Work somewhere awesome:

Hawksmoor Guildhall is a 200-cover restaurant is situated in the heart of The City, near Bank Station. We’re the only Hawksmoor to offer breakfast and provides “the best power breakfast in London” (GQ). A lunch and dinner of dictionary-thick steaks are joined by a wide range of sustainable seafood from around the British coast, there is also a private room for larger groups and a Beef Tasting Menu for those who want to take a Tongue to Tail tour of a cow. The restaurant is closed weekends, which gives us a unique opportunity to host weddings or private events.

Hawksmoor’s primary focus is on steak, we source the tastiest and most ethical beef from independent farms around the UK, age it for 28 days and cook it simply over charcoal. You will also have the chance to work with Executive Chef Matt Brown; a Head Chef of not one, but two 3 Michelin Star Restaurants who is in charge of food and training at Hawksmoor.

Hawksmoor is in the Sunday Times list of 100 best companies to work for in the UK. This is one of the things we are most proud of, especially as the ranking is based on anonymous feedback from the people who really know – the people who work here. In fact we are the only restaurant company to be ranked in the top 50 companies to work for eight years in a row

Work hard and be nice to people:

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team. To be considered, you’ll have at least a year’s experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Head Chef, cooking in a kitchen that cares about the food it sends out. Cooking skills and product knowledge are massively important, but our best senior chefs are also consistent, reliable, willing to learn and adapt to different ways of working.

When you join you will have access to a generous package of benefits, including:
• Monday to Friday shifts with the occasional weekend work for weddings or events
• Support you with the tools and training you need to be the best you can be
• All of the service charge goes to the people who work in our restaurants, including our awesome kitchen team.
• 50% off food in our restaurants for two people (four if you want to bring your family)
• An optional paid day each year to use for volunteering
• Company pension (we will match your contributions up to 3% of your salary)
• Christmas & Boxing day off
• No staff uniform, chef whites provided
• 28 days’ holiday that include service charge
• Exclusive savings on travel, shopping, restaurants, health and fitness benefits and more.
• Full time contracts of 48 hours a week
