Assistant General Manager

Description
Hawksmoor is opening in an incredible restaurant space in New York: a beautiful National Historic Landmark built as The United Charities Building in 1893 with an impressive 10 metre high ceiling in the assembly hall that will form the main room of the restaurant. The location is just off Park Avenue South and north of prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square.
The restaurant will be 170 seats with a 50-cover bar and will be opening early 2020.

Reporting to the General Manager, we’re looking for a brand-new Assistant General Manager to join and help lead our team in opening our first international restaurant in New York.

Work somewhere awesome:

Careers with Hawksmoor Group are among the best – generous pay and benefits, award-winning restaurants, unrivalled career opportunities and some of the happiest people in the business (as voted by the people who work here). The Sunday Times has recognized us in their Best Companies awards, for eight years in a row, as one of the top 100 companies to work for in the UK and we endeavor to do the same in the US.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Managing and supporting all the heads of department and their teams.
• Responsible for leading all team members in running an efficient and profitable operation.
• Managing day-to-day restaurant and bar operations.
• Maintaining exemplary Hawksmoor standards in everything we do.
• Embodying Hawksmoor culture and values and being able to teach and train them to all employees.
• Ensuring employee welfare and customer service is of the highest quality.
• Ensuring all products are of the highest standard and consistency.

To be considered for the role you will have:

• Extensive experience running some of the best restaurant and bars in New York.
• Experience launching and opening restaurants in New York and the US.
• Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.
• Knowledge and experience in all the departments of a restaurant and how they all work together harmoniously.
• Excellent floor management skills.
• Top management, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership skills with ability to teach, coach and train all FOH and BOH employees.
• Experience in all NYC Health and Safety, Food Hygiene Practices and Standards.

Salary, package and benefits all to be discussed at the interview.
