Hawksmoor is opening in an incredible restaurant space in New York: a beautiful National Historic Landmark built as The United Charities Building in 1893 with an incredible 10 metre ceilinged assembly hall that will form the main room of the restaurant. The location is just off Park Avenue South and north of the prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square. The restaurant will be 170 seats with a 50-cover bar and will be opening early 2020.

Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, we’re looking for a brand-new Pastry Sous Chef to join our team and open our first international restaurant in New York.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
• To support the Executive Pastry Chef in;
o Food quality and consistency
o Taking part in menu development and tastings
o Efficiency of services/kitchen
o Product and service standards
o Health & Safety
o Maintenance of kitchen equipment

• A good understanding of:
o Product
o Company recipes (which must be followed exactly)
o Systems, including QSR, Stock management and inventory control

To be considered for the role you will have:
• Experience launching and opening restaurants in New York and the US.
• Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.
• Excellent leadership skills with ability to teach, coach and train all FOH and BOH employees.
