COMPANY OVERVIEW

Heartland Cafe is located within the Wolf Creek Generating Station, a nuclear power plant located in Burlington, Kansas. Our large café includes a wide variety of delicious, freshly cooked meals to keep our patrons happy and replenished. Heartland Cafe is a service of Latour Management Inc, the most valued and respected food management and service provider that is locally owned and operated in Kansas. As a cook you will be cross trained in all culinary services, including entrees, grill, deli, salad station, grab-and go, and dessert stations.

Wolf Creek has been safely providing clean, reliable energy to the citizens of Kansas and Missouri since 1985. The plant generates about 1,200 megawatts of electricity, which is enough energy to power more than 800,000 homes. We take immense pride in helping our plant operators recharge their mind and body, so they can help recharge our local community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepare and serve meals as instructed in a timely enough manner so as to meet our customer satisfaction standards
• Rotate from various cafeteria stations to perform different meal preparation tasks
• Work in conjunction with other line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure that food is rotated on schedule from freezers and walk-ins
to prep areas, and then on to the line for cooking
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment at all times by observing kitchen rules
• Familiarize yourself with proper food handling regulations as well as contamination controls
• Cashier responsibilities include sales entry, payment processing, and ensuring drawer accuracy
• Assisting in other duties, as assigned by manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Able to meet physical kitchen demands as well as standing on your feet for extended period
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
• Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting, or in a team-oriented environment
