The Newt in Somerset Experience Manager

The Newt in Somerset is a new and unique destination already attracting a recognition at the highest level.  Our 300-year-old estate complete with woodland, lush gardens and breath-taking views welcomes guests from all over the world. Our hotel is a home from home where our team deliver outstanding service in informal surroundings.  

Gardens, orchards, and treetop walkways inspire whilst roaring fires and our wellbeing spa offer tranquility.  Food is a passion across the estate, whether hotel or our restaurants or farm shop.  Much is sourced from the estate and trusted local suppliers. 

Position Summary

Our Experience Manager will be enhancing the Newt lifestyle by connecting with our guests on a personal level.  

The goal is to delight our guests and to make their stay here the best.  We are looking for someone to whom superlative service is the norm.  Hugely guest focused and with the drive and commitment to provide amazing and special experiences on the estate and in the local area.

There will be a daily programme of experiences to manage.  Also bespoke suggestions/requests to make real.  These could include, private dining, picnics, experiences, events, shopping, tours and so much more!

The role requires a self-motivated, confident, personable, and guest focused manager with high attention to detail. An interest in physical activities such as Yoga, and experience of typical (and less typical) country pursuits will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

-        To develop, promote, implement, and deliver amazing guest experiences across the estate

-        To keep records and information to ensure programmes and guest history are managed

-        To nurture relationships with local providers to ensure special opportunities are presented

-        To inspire hotel guests with the opportunities the estate and surrounding areas have to offer

-        To keep the Newt team informed of experiences and planned events

-        To be responsible for hosting VIP tours and media experiences

-        To support the hotel operation, performing hotel duty management shifts where required

 Skills and Experience

-        Proven track record in high end concierge role or similar

-        Local knowledge would be very useful as would a great local contact list

-        Practical event management at a high level

-        Time management and the ability to effectively prioritise workload

-        Self-motivated with great problem-solving skills

-        Strong interest and experience in physical activities (such as Yoga) and country pursuits

-        Teamworking skills and enjoying working in a team environment

-        Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

-        Full clean driving licence

-        Excellent communication skills and possibly languages

-        Fluent in written and spoken English
