General Manager

Description
Humble Grape are a highly successful and well-publicised group of wine bars/restaurants, who are now looking for a new General Manager. These exciting customer-experience wine focussed venues offer a variety of complementary, high quality dishes, which attract a wide and loyal customer base.

We are looking for someone with strong experience as a General Manager with a proven track record of delivering strong sales. You will need to be the ‘face of the brand’ – highly motivated, enthusiastic, have a meticulous attention to detail, and have a proven history of delivering exemplary customer service.

In addition you will be a great team leader with experience in recruiting, training and developing staff. You will also have previous experience within bar management, and a knowledge of and a passion for wine.

Key Duties:

● Ensure all core operating standards on service, food quality, hygiene, food safety, health & safety are consistently maintained and delivered.
● Recruit, train and retain the best talent. Coach and train the team to deliver positive experiences for guests and to take full advantage of all commercial upselling opportunities.
● Achieve and exceed targets, audit scores and sales targets, taking full responsibility for the financial performance of the restaurant (while working with a dynamic sales and marketing team).
● Develop deep succession in the team, always talent spotting managers of the future.
● Create a team culture where guests are valued, where they receive memorable levels of service and value for money and leave excited at the prospect of returning.
● Deal effectively with customer queries/complaints.
● Take an active role in running the kitchen, partnering with the head chef to offer coaching and support.
● Identify challenges and offer solutions and improvement initiatives.

In return you will be rewarded with an excellent salary and benefits package.

EMPLOYER INFORMATION

We’re on a mission to make wine socially inclusive and approachable to everyone. We focus on the customer and share the stories behind our many wines, where we feature the wonderful winemakers we purchase from, the regions in which the grapes are grown and the grape varieties — this stuff is indisputable, whereas aromas and tastes are very personal.

Humble Grape has been trading since 2009 and is currently in an extensive growth phase. The right candidate has an opportunity to forge their own role in the company.

We value our staff, help to develop their careers and treat them extremely well. We aim to become an industry leader and a destination “best place to work”, so we want to attract the food, beverage and hospitality industries’ leading lights.
