Jonathan Waxman's Jams Restaurant @ 1 Hotel Central Park is seeking a Host/Hostess to join our vibrant and diverse team. We strive to create an authentic experience that centers itself around California cuisine, polished yet comfortable service, and takes place in a relaxed, eco-chic environment one block south of Central Park.
The Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for all guest interactions and sets the tone for their experience with us. The primary responsibilities of the Host/Hostess to make the initial warm greeting and seating of guests, answering telephones, taking reservations and messages, maintaining accurate guest counts and wait times and saying goodbye to all guests. The Host will assist with coat-check duties and occasionally be asked to assist in aspects of service on the floor.
Ideal candidates have the following:
1-2 years experience working as a Host in a fine-dining or casual-dining restaurant
Experience with reservation software such as Open Table/Resy
Possesses a warm, positive and energetic personality
A polished, well-groomed appearance
Able to maintain composure and professionalism when under pressure
Able to stand on their feet for long-periods of time
A team-player that proactively assists all guests and employees
