Jikoni has a purpose-led approach to business and we place great importance on learning and developing the leadership skills, professionalism and business skills in our team that make great hospitality.
We take a three-part approach to training hospitality professionals with modules that can be tested practically and completed through the first 3, 6 and 12 months in preparation for promotion and across three areas (two of which we feel are often overlooked:
1. Leadership & Communication Skills
2. Business Knowledge & Skills and Operational Practical Experience
3. Culinary Skills (for Chefs) & Service Skills (for Front of House)
All encompass elements of Hospitality. We emphasise the importance of our Family Values (Pluralism & Multiculturalism, Excellence, Selfless Service, Entrepreneurialism and Integrity) and the Emotional Skills required to be successful in a hospitality-led environment.
A trainee shall be inducted and given training on a rotational basis in 2-3 sections of the restaurant (front of house and back of house). This shall allow the successful candidate to grow and spot relevant talent giving them enough time and opportunity to build a career in hospitality for themselves.
