JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Head of Finance to provide commercial financial support. You will actively participate in the development of the finance function to continually improve service levels, cost-effectiveness and add value to commercial activities undertaken. This is an end-to-end role, so the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities is essential.
Develop action plans with the Operations and Events Teams to improve margins
Proactively support your colleagues in AR and AP to ensure the accounts are up to date
Work with operations and events to assess ways of making cost savings
Ensure costs are accurately captured and recorded in the correct periods
Ensure all revenue is captured and recorded and that control processes are being followed by all
Support the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure robust and challenging targets are set
Development of system driven business intelligence
Working with the Head of Finance on the preparation and filing of the quarterly VAT returns
Assisting with the preparation of the weekly and monthly profit and loss accounts
Preparing schedules and reports as required including;
Supporting the Head of Finance with KPI reporting
Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting to the owners
Assisting in developing and improving the Management Information Pack
Event cost/margin and profitability analysis
Provide input to the financial evaluation of business cases
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
2 years experience of working in a similar role and ready to hit the ground running
Experience in a multi faceted business is essential, this could be in hospitality, leisure or retail
Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent or qualified by experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Suite and relevant financial qualifications
Experience using SAP or similar system
Highly numerate and organised individual with a keen eye for attention to detail
Exceptional communication, both verbal and written. It is important that you are able to provide support the team whilst being confident to follow up on deadlines in an effective way.
Building relationships with your co-workers and external stakeholders is important to be able to deliver an effective finance function
High level of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive data and information
Being able to manage your own workload in addition to supervising and supporting the team around you is key. Having and creating clear processes to ensure deadlines are met and control processes are always in place.
