Summary Description :

The Director of Indirect Procurement main duties will be to define, implement and promote the Group's procurement policy in the NORCAM region (USA, Canada & Mexico), in line with General Management's strategic guidelines. The successful applicant will be in charge of defining the 3-year cost-savings plan, defining priorities, monitoring its implementation within the Region, and communicating on the purchasing performance on a monthly basis. He/she will also be tasked with the local deployment of the Group's procurement culture via KPIs and standardized tools. The goal is to have a suitable, effective procurement spend coverage in all spheres of the business unit; the target is to cover more than 90% of expenditures.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Implement the cost optimization plan defined in accordance with the strategic plan:

1a) Create the global 3-year cost-savings plan in line with an expenditure baseline of approximately €90M, based on the elements defined in the strategic plan:

• Classification of expenditures per supplier (based on P&L)
• Consolidated, region-level view of expenditures per supplier
• Definition of an action plan to cut costs in each domain
• Priority alignment

1b) Coordinating the Region's main suppliers to optimize performance via winning partnerships:

• Challenge for the Region's Top 500 suppliers
• Specific, key account-type action plan with these suppliers
• Search for alternatives and innovations in response to strategic issues
• Follow thanks the corporate dashboard

2. Provide support and expertise in the company's various fields with the aim to optimize the “cost-service ratio” by implementing all the RFP / RFQ in liaison with the business. Develop expertise guidelines for all requisitions in order to optimize the associated costs on the following key cost items, with a priority focus on:

• Retail - works, furnishings, and lighting; a specific key focus must be put on this, with a goal to review current budget and spending with Architect team and monitor the cost for improvement
• Supply chain - Logistics & Transportation
• Additional domains to focus on include Marketing, (Media, POS advertising, fees); IS & E-com; and HR, (travel policy, facilities, and recruitment fees)

3. Set up the processes and tools needed for an efficient purchasing policy:
• Adapt and deploy the global procurement policy to contribute to the procurement culture development into the regional organization
• Implement the S2C (Sourcing to Contract) and S2P (Sourcing to Pay) project with the goal of setting up a standard tool (SAP / Ariba) at the regional level; this will involve establishing functional definitions of the processes, and validating the expenditures necessary for the purchasing function's smooth operation at the regional level.
• Provide the right level of coordination with the different domains to monitor the savings and build a Procurement culture.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Masters' degree from a top-ranking business/engineering school
• 7-10 years' experience in innovative companies, working in all business sectors, (FMCG, Retail, Industry, Services), in a procurement function
• Proven success with devising and implementing an effective indirect procurement strategy in his / her domain with a view to improving performance and optimizing costs; he/she will have overseen a substantial and diverse scope of expenditures - a previous experience in procurement in Retail and Supply-Chain would be a “plus”
• Past participation in implementing a cost optimization plan for several million euros on an international scale, working in matrix, agile environments on new positions
• Knowledge of Ariba is a plus
• Strong ability to negotiate and stay open-minded
• Must have an understanding of cross-functional needs, ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, collaborative approach, team player, able to embody sporting values
• Proven ability to drive change within the company
• Capable of providing a vision, and inspiring and rallying the main stakeholders
• Solid, direct and cross-functional management skills
