ROLE SUMMARY

The Wholesale Controlling manager will be responsible for overseeing the general financial control of the company’s wholesale channel for both Footwear and Apparel, including overseeing the monthly and yearly closures, budgeting and forecasting processes, (regarding wholesale gross sales, net sales, and margins), as well as all wholesale expenses. This person will work closely with the VP of Wholesale for Apparel and Footwear, the Wholesale sales teams, and the Controlling and Accounting teams to consolidate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, (including P&L and Operational Working Capital).


MAIN REPONSIBILITIES AND MISSION

Finance and Reporting

  • Completion and preparation of 3 Year Plan, Budget, and quarterly forecasts; this includes collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data in liaison with Business owners, as well as completing all associated internal and group presentations
  • Internal reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Monthly analysis of P&L, (including Gross sales, Net sales and Margin by product, Payroll analysis, Fees, Advertising, and Facilities expenses), against prior year, budget, and last forecast, providing explanations of variances and action plans in liaison with Wholesale sales team and communication of any risks and opportunities
  • Assist accounting team in the completion of timely and comprehensive end of month closing and analysis of variations in financial results to ensure accuracy
  • Complete the end of month required reporting and presentations to the French parent company
  • Completion of monthly Business Reviews for French parent company
  • Review and implement policies and procedures for financial processes and review of internal controls
  • Review and accept invoices and payments made in accordance with company policies and authorization levels
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required


Business and Strategic Analysis

  • Partner with VP of Wholesale Sales on all reporting, 3 Year Plans, annual Budget, and quarterly forecasts
  • Track, report and analyze all wholesale sell in and sell out by key account customers
  • Review and track all wholesale KPIs
  • Analyze and report weekly sell out activity from SKYPAD and be the point person between Lacoste and the SKYPAD Team
  • Develop and present weekly wholesale business reviews outlining recent performance and corresponding wholesale action plans to US senior leadership
  • Involvement in ad-hoc requests for both data and analysis, determine ROI and optimize investments
  • Identify potential problem areas and alert management of any possible financial impact
  • Review and approve seasonal pricing for Wholesale Footwear SKUs of over 1,000 per season to ensure margin targets are met while remaining at competitive SRPs across categories at retail


MAIN SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Finance/Accounting is required; MBA or CPA is a plus
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar wholesale retail position; experience in a medium or large sized Retail multinational company preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting required
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with pivot tables, lookups and IF statements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion a plus
