LOCATION: New York, NY

REPORTS TO: Wholesale FP&A Senior Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

This position supports the Retail Controlling Manager in overseeing the Corporate general controls of the USA. This individual will plan and execute budget procedures including monthly monitoring of expenditures and revenues; communicate the status to management; prepare individual departmental budgets; develop multi-year forecast estimates for expenditures and revenues; and review company performance against forecast. Additionally, they will work closely with Accounting, Retail and Wholesale Controlling team.

MAIN REPONSIBILITIES AND MISSION

  • Assist the Accounting team in the completion of timely and comprehensive end of month closing and analysis of variations in financial results to ensure accuracy.
  • Monthly analysis of P&L, Inventories and Headcount against prior year, budget and last forecast, providing explanations of variances and defining and following action plan and communication of any risks and opportunities.
  • Complete the monthly required reporting to the parent company.
  • Compile and prepare 3 Year Plan, Budget, and quarterly forecasts (3+9, 6+6, 9+3) by establishing schedules for the Finance team and business owners; collecting assumptions (buying plan by PL and by channel), analyzing, and consolidating financial data in liaison with Retail and Wholesale Controllers and Other Business owners.
  • Prepare and consolidate the Budget presentation for CEO and CFO and key initiatives to support HQ departments (General Mgt, Marketing, HR, Visual Merchandising, Finance, Logistic, IT).
  • Do a monthly analysis to each business owner highlighting Actual variances vs Budget in main categories such as personnel costs, travel expenses, fees, and other charges and by defining and following action plan to meet the Budget target and guidelines.
  • Review and monitor financial systems that may improve efficiency and productivity in liaison with the BI Team (rename and rationalize the analytical Chart of Account in SAP and Hyperion). Train and support the NAM Finance team each time there is a system change upstream.
  • Define and conduct monthly action plan on inventory (Warehouse, boutiques, outlets) in liaison with Supply Chain, Buying and Planning team according to the Budget. Work closely with the Licenses partners (Shoes, Fragrance, Underwear, Watches, Glasses, Leather Goods) and planning to validate orders for US.


Oversee the Capex :

  • Optimize investments by determining ROI with Landlords assumptions and Capex requested from Design and Architecture departments in liaison with Wholesale and Retail.
  • Strongly monitor the Capex monthly with CAR, Budget, Actual commitments, Still to Do to make sure we meet the Budget target.
  • Identify potential problem areas and alert management of any possible financial impact.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.


MAIN SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Finance/Accounting, MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in a Finance position; experience in a medium or large sized multinational company preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting required.
  • Prior experience in a retail environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with pivot tables, lookups and If statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning and Business Objects a plus.
