Liv Breads is a new bakery cafe in Millburn, NJ. Under the kitchen direction of one of Israel’s top bread bakers, we are excited to introduce the community to artisanal, naturally risen breads from our location at 184 Essex Street. We are looking for team players, enthusiastic to work in a new food business focused on service, quality and consistency.
This position is a great opportunity to work in a new and growing business. Liv Breads opened in August 2018, to great acclaim. We need a team player to work within our prep department managing a team of prep cooks and working closely with the owners to develop and manage the preparation of creative sandwiches, salads, and soups, all crafted to highlight our sourdough breads.
Responsibilities
• Manage a team of prep cooks and dishwasher including hiring, scheduling, training, and assigning tasks on a daily basis
• Work with owners to develop new sandwiches and salads
• Manage daily rotation of items
• Prepare salads and sandwiches according to recipes
• Maintain the prep areas and manage stock for prep department
• Accept deliveries, manage inventory and quality of ingredients
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly, following FIFO
• Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements
• Able to lead a team and create a supportive, yet professional, environment
• Ability to work as part of team with owners to help develop recipes according to the vision of the bakery
• Ability to multitask in order to produce multiple salads and sandwiches and soups on a rotation
• Available to work weekends and holidays

Compensation: commensurate with experience
Education: Culinary degree or comparable experience
Experience: one year of kitchen experience
