CAVA is looking for a food-loving, creative Communications & PR manager with a proven knack for translating a brand’s voice effectively. Our ideal candidate has a passion for brand storytelling and can deliver a clear message across a variety of media and when responding to customers. We need someone with impeccable attention to detail, a powerful fire in the belly and a desire to shape and quickly take our communications strategy to the next level. Success in this role includes strong strategic planning, proactive communications leadership, generation of significant brand and product exposure, as well as effective management of our customer service and communication initiatives to consistently articulate the CAVA mission. This role reports to the Director of Marketing and will manage strategic initiatives across multiple stakeholders including our marketing and executive teams, media, bloggers, consumers, trade and industry partners. CAVA is a fast-growing culinary brand with a portfolio of fast casual restaurants and a packaged goods line dedicated to fresh, Mediterranean inspired, better-for-you cuisine. Born from a full service restaurant collaboration between three first-generation Greek American childhood friends in the Washington, D.C. area, our chef-driven fast casual format is currently in five states with further expansion ahead.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and execute PR and communications strategies to support the CAVA brand and our customers, products, campaigns, influencers, events, brand partners, and corporate initiatives
• Act as a thought-leader in PR to provide guidance to the Brand & Marketing team to develop breakthrough and integrated communication concepts and strategies
• Effectively manage customer service communications, including a small but nimble customer service team
• Manage external agencies on CAVA PR initiatives, setting measurable objectives for new idea generation and media coverage
• Proactively and strategically pitch national and regional media and respond to all incoming requests; develop and manage all PR mailers
• Draft content materials including press releases, tip sheets and media advisories
• Manage interviews and speaking engagement vetting and ensure necessary stakeholders are briefed on current message points and are properly media trained
• Maintain strong relationships with press, partners, industry influencers and other external stakeholders
• Work with key stakeholders to build and maintain our internal and external communications calendar
• Manage internal reporting for company-wide initiatives, including press materials; track and flag all relevant CAVA and competitor news

Who we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of PR and communications experience – either in-house or agency; startup and/or restaurant, retail or food experience is preferred
• College degree in communications, PR, marketing, or other related field
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in generating earned media for consumer-focused brands and in successfully pitching all types of media including traditional, digital and social
• A creative storyteller with a knack for crafting unique and differentiated ways to convey CAVA’s message
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, team environment
• Independent thinker, team player with a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
• Strong work ethic, highly action-oriented, deadline-driven, resourceful, can effectively take a project or program from start to completion
• Experience in developing productive relationships with partners, influencers, and media
