Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Start Date: ASAP

Summary

We are looking for high energy leaders to help develop our first location. This role has the opportunity to grow into a multi-unit manager role down the road. The assistant manager is a leader who is not only passionate about executing food excellence, but also has an affinity for people and is willing to roll up their sleeves in the trenches. This is a role that will require on-site presence and hands-on working with the kitchen team members approximately 80% of the time. The assistant manager is responsible for all aspects of hub operations and will take a lead in the fast paced environment of a startup. The ideal candidate will be able to drive operational results via consistent team member coaching, by delivering excellent customer experience, and by being the ultimate problem-solver.

Candidate profile

Employment experience as a manager or supervisor in the restaurant industry, particularly in QSR or ghost kitchens; 2-3 years of experience
Experience in high-volume, NYC fast casual concepts
Experience managing P&L, COGS, ordering, inventory, scheduling, and labor management
Able and willing to be a hands-on worker with the team, consistently present in the kitchen
Ability to coach team members to excellence by providing appropriate feedback
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, excellent decision-making, and a passion for delivering best-in-class customer experience
Self-starter, reliable, happy, humble, coachable, hospitable, adaptable, and independent
NYC Food Protection Certificate holder

Primary duties

Shift lead: Take an active role in service, both culinary and assembly. Lead, mentor, and coach other team members.
Customer experience: Communicating our values & culture to customers and employees; Ensuring customer satisfaction with every meal
Food Safety: Managing to a 100% success rate in health & safety compliance; Maintaining an “A” letter grade with the DOH; Coaching all team members in food safety practices as determined by the company and DOH
Operations: Training and development of all hub team members. Assisting with inventory, waste, and COGS. Communicating and ensuring the completion of and adherence to SOPs across all team members; Removing barriers of success
Financial management: Consistently achieving budget targets via P&L management and appropriate sales forecasting; Managing scheduling and labor costs, while maintaining labor law compliance
People: Sourcing & hiring best-in-class talent; Managing employee development, including training & on-boarding, providing coaching, feedback, and resolving performance issues in a timely manner
