Description

Position Summary 

The Learning Specialist is responsible for the creation, updating, and sustainment of On the Job Training Materials (including videos, menu/build cards, manuals, and assessments); completing training audits in multiple locations; scheduling new hire immersions in collaboration with multiple partners; and administration (system input and reporting) of compliance training.


Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, or related field

  • 3+ years of training experience for a food & beverage business, preferably QSR and/or FSR, is required including assisting with rolling out new training initiatives/compliance/systems. 

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in operations management position in restaurant industry is preferred

  • Proven ability in facilitating/delivering learning content, recommending solutions to deliver learning content (i.e. classroom, online, and small team experiences), and evaluating training programs’ effectiveness.

  • Experience leading and training team members in an operational setting or similar experience.

  • Prior experience partnering with consultants/vendors in creation of learning content strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software and platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) is required.

  • Preferred experience with creating/editing training videos using iPhone, iPad, and iMovie.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of staff.

  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills required.

  • Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule including working evenings and weekends.

  • Bilingual in Spanish for speaking, writing, and reading is preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules and assists in facilitating all training programs:  hourly, supervisory, and management training with all Operations and Support Center groups.

  • Assist with developing and facilitating curriculum for all levels of restaurant Team Members including QSR/FSR and FOH/BOH.

  • Develop and deliver corporate communication including, but not limited to, weekly Operations Bulletin to all locations.  

  • Assist with selection, training, and deployment of Support Trainers.  

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress, effectiveness, and impact of training/immersions and making recommendations for improvement.  

  • Assist with New Restaurant Openings as needed. 

  • Role models policies and procedures and Why, Vision, Values.

  • Adaptability and ability to quickly learn new or different techniques, products, and computer programs/systems.

  • For training initiatives, use problem solving skills, ability to effectively analyze, and propose viable solutions.

  • Partners with all team leaders to ensure compliance/company training completion and effectiveness; provides reporting.

  • Partners with consultants/vendors in implementation of learning content and programs.

  • Develops activities/curriculum to enhance on-the-job training program.

  • Partners with all team leaders to ensure that all training materials are accurate and well maintained.

  • Design and produce training aids (job aids, case studies, simulations, games, etc.) and support materials.

  • Effectively represents Miguel’s Restaurants and our Why Vision Values to groups of Team Members, applicants, and colleagues in the industry, management, and outside organizations as needed.
